The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan, through its Locally Funded Projects (LFP) Team, conducted an orientation on DBM Local Budget Circular (LBC) No. 161 for Punong Barangays of Balanga City during the Liga ng Barangay Meeting.

The session provided local officials with a comprehensive understanding of the release and utilization of the Local Government Support Fund-Financial Assistance to LGUs (LGSF-FALGU) under the FY 2025 General Appropriations Act (RA No. 12116). Discussions focused on ensuring that barangays optimize the fund’s intended purpose—supporting priority development projects that align with both local and national objectives.
Key Provisions Discussed:
- Barangays can request up to ₱5M for non-infrastructure projects.
- Requests that include infrastructure projects may go up to ₱10M, but the non-infra portion must not exceed ₱5M.
- Eligible projects include agriculture programs, ICT development, disaster response, heritage preservation, and more.
- Submission is fully digital via the DBM Apps Portal (DRSL system).
- Compliance with budgeting, procurement, and reporting requirements is a must.

The orientation also served as a platform for Punong Barangays to raise concerns and seek clarifications on fund allocation and project implementation. DILG Bataan reaffirmed its commitment to guiding LGUs in properly accessing and managing financial assistance to drive sustainable local development.

For inquiries and assistance, barangays are encouraged to coordinate with DILG Bataan Field Officers.
