As part of its commitment to clean, honest, and peaceful elections, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan actively participated in the “Lakad Para sa Mapayapang NLE 2025: Unity Walk, Peace Covenant Signing, and Candidates Briefing” on March 26, 2025, at St. Joseph Cathedral, Balanga City.

The event, spearheaded by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), gathered key stakeholders, including representatives from DILG Bataan, the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Department of Education (DepEd), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

The program began with a Unity Walk, symbolizing solidarity for democracy and peace followed by the Peace Covenant Signing, where candidates vowed to uphold ethical campaigning, reject violence, and adhere to electoral integrity.

Atty. Chris Ian M. Silva, Provincial Election Supervisor, reiterated election guidelines and regulations to ensure an orderly and credible electoral process.

In her message, DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESO V, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating, "This is more than a ceremony—it is a commitment to democracy and integrity. Let us ensure a fair election that reflects the true will of the people."

With the 2025 elections approaching, DILG Bataan reaffirms its dedication to fostering peaceful and credible elections and calls on all candidates and voters to uphold the values of democracy.
