The Municipality of Abucay has achieved a significant milestone with the recent acquisition of a new mini bus, designed to enhance the delivery of essential social services. The project, amounting to Php 3,240,000.00, was funded through the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance – Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), with an additional Php 1,440,000.00 contributed by the Local Government Unit (LGU). This initiative aims to improve accessibility and efficiency in serving the community.
During the inauguration and turnover ceremony held on December 6, 2024, Mayor Ruben Tagle expressed his sincere appreciation to the DILG for their unwavering support, describing the acquisition as a historic achievement. He credited the success to the collaborative effort and unity within the local government.
“Kapag tayo ay nagkaisa at nagtulungan tungo sa iisang direksyon, aanihin natin ay pag-asa at progreso,” Mayor Tagle remarked.
DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESO V, lauded Abucay’s commitment to good governance and praised the municipality for overcoming the challenges of securing the prestigious SGLG award. “This is truly a historic moment as it marks the very first SGLGIF incentive award received by the Municipality of Abucay,” she stated.
Meanwhile, DILG Region III Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza, CESO IV, also congratulated the LGU, noting that the new mini bus would bring government services closer to the people.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including members of the Sangguniang Bayan, department heads, MLGOO Allan Don Malonzo, Cluster Team Leader Cristy Blanco, and the DILG Provincial Locally-Funded Projects Team.
