In a focused effort to uphold efficient delivery of basic services through digitalization, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan team, led by Provincial Director Belina Herman, CESO V, conducted a monitoring activity to assess the implementation status of the electronic Local Government Unit (e-LGU) systems in the municipalities of Abucay and Orion on June 18-19, 2024.
The activity brought together key officials, including Municipal Treasurers, Business Permits and Licensing Officers, Municipal Civil Registrars, Management Information Systems personnel, and Information Officers.
Throughout the assessment, several strengths and challenges were identified that are essential for further improving the system. Moreover, both municipalities expressed their need for ongoing support and assistance from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the DILG, and the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) to effectively implement the online system for local government units.
The e-LGU system covers a wide range of local government services such as business permit licensing, notice of violations, notification systems, community tax, health certificates, local civil registry, business tax, real property tax, and information dissemination. It aims to make government transactions easier and more efficient.
A separate monitoring activity was conducted in the municipalities of Bagac and Morong on June 13, 2024, by DILG Region 3 personnel. To complete the series of field visits, another e-LGU system implementation monitoring is set for June 26, 2024, in Pilar, Bataan.
