The recently constructed 67.58 kW Solar Panels Project, situated in the vicinity of Bataan National High School Senior High School (BNHS-SHS) in the City of Balanga, is a noteworthy renewable energy endeavor made possible through the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance – Incentive Fund (SGLGIF). Through a meticulous process of passing the SGLG assessment the City of Balanga received Php 7 million as an incentive. The LGU prioritized installing solar panels atop school buildings, with the primary objective of harnessing solar energy and diminishing reliance on conventional energy sources.

Coinciding with the festive Christmas season last year, the completion of the project was akin to a Yuletide gift for students and teachers alike. Beyond being a sustainable energy source, the beneficiaries believe that this initiative will function as both a demonstration and an educational tool for the community. They anticipate that this project will raise awareness about the advantages of solar power, inspiring individuals to adopt more sustainable practices.

Maria Christine Cordero, a faculty member, underscored the substantial impact of the project's installation. She envisions the electrical energy generated by the solar panels as a catalyst for innovation in teaching strategies and lesson delivery. Additionally, Cordero highlighted the panels' ability to optimize the functionality of computers, speakers, projectors, and other technological tools, ultimately enhancing students' learning performance.

The SGLGIF project, centered on the solar panel initiative reached completion, signified a momentous leap toward creating a greener and more environmentally friendly school campus. This not only represents a commitment to renewable energy but also underscores the school's dedication to fostering sustainable practices and environmental awareness.
