The DILG Aurora and its Local Governance Resource Center "TAMBULI", in collaboration with DWBW 92.1 RTV Baler, Radyo Kawadi and Radyo Kaedup, aired the 29th episode of USAPANG DILG: GABAY SA PAMAMAHALANG LOKAL today, March 15, 2024.
For the 29th episode entitled “BARANGAY AT MAMAMAYAN, SAMA SAMANG NAGTUTULUNGAN SA PAGTAGUYOD NG MAAYOS, MAUNLAD, AT MAPAYAPANG PAMAYANAN TUNGO SA BAGONG PILIPINAS”, the role of the barangay officials and the community during Barangay Assemblies were discussed by Baler Municipal Local Government Operation Officer, LGOO VI Cecilia G. Rubio.
Through Proclamation No. 599, series of 2018, Saturdays and Sundays of March and October of every year shall be dedicated for the conduct of Barangay Assemblies which aim to ensure widest community participation in local governance.
Major grassroots programs for Barangays such as BIDA, HAPAG, KALINISAN, BARKADA, BaRCO, Barangay Full Disclosure, BADAC and BPOC among many others were also highlighted in the discussion.
The BNEO for GREAT Barangay Program were also emphasized in the 30-minute episode.
