The Province of Tarlac successfully convened its Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC), and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) for their 1st Quarter Joint Meeting on February 15, 2024, at Tarlac Capitol Center, Tarlac City. Under the leadership of Governor Susan A. Yap, the meeting served as an avenue to address critical issues affecting peace and order of Tarlac Province.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders and officials representing various National Government Agencies and law enforcement entities, including the Department of the Interior and Local Government - Tarlac, 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion, the 71st Infantry Battalion, Tarlac Police Provincial Office, Bureau of Fire Protection - Tarlac, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Tarlac. Their collective involvement emphasized the commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the Tarlaqueños and ensuring a peaceful and secure environment within the communities that they serve.
Key discussions revolved around the Province’s current situation relative to the threats of terrorism and insurgency. Governor Susan A. Yap underscored the need for proactive measures to mitigate these challenges and secure the safety of the community. The meeting provided a platform for all participating agencies to share updates, insights, and collaborative strategies toward achieving the common goal of preserving peace and order.
Likewise, she highlighted the Bagong Pilipinas Program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. which focuses on an all-inclusive plan for economic and social transformation. “Bagong Pilipinas is making sure ang accountability nating lahat and responsibilities as public servant from whatever branch of government we are from, na dapat maibaba natin ang programa ng ating pamahalaan in all layers speedily, efficiently, and timely”, Governor Yap said.
Furthermore, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency - Tarlac outlined the status of Anti-Illegal Drug Programs and Activities, demonstrating the Province’s unwavering commitment to combatting the proliferation of illegal drugs and ensuring drug-free communities. Their comprehensive report shed light on the progress made and highlighted future strategies aimed at curbing drug-related issues.

On February 8, 2024, the Local Council for the Protection of Children Against Violence Against Women and Children (LCAT-VAWC) Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Team (PIMT) and the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (IMTF) convened in a coordination meeting which aims to strategize and chart the way toward the successful implementation of LCAT-VAWC- and LCPC-related initiatives in the Province of Tarlac.
The meeting served as a venue to deliberate on effective strategies and collaborative approaches to enhance governance and ensure the successful implementation of policies, programs, and services for the most vulnerable sectors within the Province, and to identify innovative methods to strengthen the capacities of the PIMT and IMTF in overseeing the administration of assessments, particularly in relation to the protection of women and children.
Moreover, the meeting provided an opportunity to verify the compliance of local government units (LGUs) in the Province with existing policies and regulations aimed at safeguarding the rights and welfare of women and children. Members of the task force evaluated the efficacy of current initiatives and proposed ways forward to address any identified gaps or challenges.
Both the LCAT-VAWC PIMT and the LCPC Provincial IMTF commit to work hand in hand with various stakeholders across the Province of Tarlac to uphold the rights and dignity of women and children. On February 8, 2024, the Municipality of San Clemente proudly inaugurated its newly constructed Multipurpose Building, signaling a significant milestone in the local government unit's commitment to youth empowerment and community development. The building, strategically designated as a Teen Center, proves the Municipality's dedication to providing a physical space where the youth can converge, discuss, plan, meet, participate, and coordinate their activities.
Through the leadership of Mayor Elma Macadamia, the Municipality utilized its 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive to fund the construction of the facility. This allocation of resources emphasizes the Municipality's prioritization of youth-oriented initiatives and signifies its commitment to fostering the development of future generations.
The Teen Center will serve as a platform for youth-led activities and initiatives, allowing the young ones to actively participate in decision-making processes and contribute to the development of the community. It will also facilitate collaboration between government agencies, community organizations, and other sectors, enabling the effective implementation of youth-oriented programs and projects.
