Floridablanca, Pampanga - An inauguration of the newly-constructed Farm-Market Road in Barangay Calantas, Floridablanca took place yesterday, September 5, 2023.
This new road is expected to bring substantial relief to the farmers, facilitating the faster transport of crops such as sweet potatoes, corn, and more.
Before the construction of this road, the path was known for its muddy and uneven terrain, making it extremely challenging for farmers to navigate. The difficulties faced by the local farmers prompted the need for this road improvement.
Mayor Darwin R. Manalansan in his speech emphasized the significance of the road in enhancing the livelihoods of the local farming community. "Ito ang dahilan kaya masipag tayo...kaya dito ko pinalagay ito. Para maging productive ang harvest dito ng mga magsasaka. Kasi napakarami nilang tanim dito tulad ng kamote, mais at iba pa. Kailangan natin tulungan [ang mga magsasaka] dahil nahihirapan sila sa pagbibiyahe ng [produkto] nila dito", said Mayor Manalansan.
On the other hand, local residents and farmers expressed their eagerness to see how newly inaugurated road will impact their daily lives and agricultural activities.
