The DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Office, through the leadership of Provincial Director Renato G. Bernardino, conducted an orientation on the implementation of C.Y. 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Assessment on March 24, 2022 thru Zoom online video teleconferencing. The activity was participated in by the concerned LGU functionaries of the provincial government and all its component cities and municipalities.

 

The orientation was conducted by the Provincial Office to apprise the LGUs of the C.Y. 2022 SGLG assessment criteria which are expanded from seven (7) to ten (10) governance areas, namely: Financial Administration and Sustainability, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection and Sensitivity, Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education, Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness, Safety, Peace and Order, Environmental Management, Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and Youth Development. 

 

The above-mentioned governance areas and their corresponding indicators were presented and thoroughly discussed by the DILG Nueva Ecija SGLG Team. Financial Administration and Sustainability and Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness was discussed by Program Manager and LGOO VI Alfa Krista C. Reyes. Disaster Preparedness and Youth Development, on the other hand, was discussed by LGOO II Kristian Rob D. Santiago. Social Protection and Sensitivity and Tourism, Heritage Development, Culture and Arts was tasked to LGOO III Donnabel E. Estipular. Health Compliance and Responsiveness, Sustainable Education and Environmental Management was explained by LGOO V Vivorey S. Lapitan. Lastly, Safety, Peace and Order was discussed by Cluster I Team Leader and LGOO VII Danilo C. Rillera. Concluding the presentations was Program Manager Reyes who explained how to accomplish the SGLG forms. 

 

The Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), being a progressive assessment system that gives distinction to remarkable local government performance across several areas, highlights integrity and good performance to institutionalize local governance reforms in the continuing pursuit for meaningful local autonomy and development.

In preparation for the Stage 2 Audit, the DILG Nueva Ecija Quality Management System (QMS) Process Owners attended the Coaching Session on the QMS Implementation which was facilitated by the Regional QMS Team at the DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Office on March 2, 2022.

 

The DILG Regional QMS Team is composed by Atty. Charmaine Jacqueline I. Paulino, LGOO VI Lee Allen B. Pineda, Accountant III Jean Hazel P. Bacani, ITO I Melerie G. Pineda, and Stat II Editha N. Macalino.

 

"Following the Department's call in sustaining a high standard in the delivery of effective and satisfactory public service, the regional team extends its technical assistance to further improve the QMS Implementation." LGOO VI Pineda stated during the session.

 

The objective of the coaching was to determine the extent of compliance of all DILG R3’s operating units to the QMS ISO 9001:2015 and applicable legal requirements. The activity also aimed to confirm the readiness of the DILG NE QMS Process Owners for Stage 2 Audit.

With the nation still discombobulated from the Covid-19 pandemic while gradually reeling towards normalcy, DILG Nueva Ecija as one of the partner agencies in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment joins the celebration of the 2022 National Women's Month.

“We Make Change Work for Women” as its main theme on its 6th year observance, this year's celebration focuses on the sub-theme: “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran”. A celebration of women exercising their choices, pushing for their voices be heard, and benefitting from and pioneering changes. It is also a celebration of Filipino women’s power to take the narrative, raise priority issues that matter to them, and call for concrete actions and solutions. It also pivots in inclusion of women's concerns in the government agenda and more women being able to implement at the same time, demand programs and services that can move the country together in narrowing gender gaps and moving apropos sustainable and equitable development. The celebration calls on stakeholders from both government and private sectors to inspire actions in promoting a gender-responsive pandemic recovery.

Provincial Director Renato G. Bernardino expressed his support to the empowerment of every woman and commended the contributions of women in the society. The DILG - Nueva Ecija Provincial Office personnel come together wearing anything purple on the first Tuesday of the month signifying support and celebrating National Women's Month. DILG Nueva Ecija Contract Tracers also take part in the celebration.

 

 

 

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) NE holds a Series of Multimedia Coaching

The Department of the Interior and Local Government Nueva Ecija conducted a series of Multimedia coaching for its personnel via a hybrid session (Zoom application and Face-to-Face) last February 21-22, 2022.

As part of the initiative of the DILG NE, the series of coaching focused on News and Feature Writing, Photo and Video Production, Canva and Social Media Management, and Adobe Photoshop.

On the first day of the coaching, LGOO II Sharlynn May M. Dimaliwat and LGOO II Kristian Rob Santiago discussed the topics of basic rules on how to effectively write a News and Feature story, and Photo and Video Production respectively.

Moreover, ADA IV Millicent Kaye I. Velasquez discussed Social Media Management while LGOO II Marie Chia Roncesvalles shared the features of the Canva application.

The last day of the coaching focused on the tutorial of Adobe Photoshop which was discussed by LGOO II William Philip Villena.

The two-day activity was conducted to fully equip its personnel with the use of various media for effective and efficient service delivery.

It was participated in by the DILG NE Provincial Staff led by Provincial Director Renato G. Bernardino.

 

DILG NUEVA ECIJA ATTENDED THE PROVINCIAL JOINT SECURITY CONTROL CENTER MEETING (PJSCC)

 

Director Renato G. Bernardino, the DILG Nueva Ecija Director, attended the first Provincial Joint Security Control Center (PJSCC) Meeting on February 7, 2022 at the Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office together with the COMELEC, PNP, AFP and DOH.

The meeting aims to unify the ongoing and future election-related activities to ensure that the upcoming political activities will lead to an orderly and peaceful election. All Election Officers and Chiefs of Police of the province were also present during the said meeting.

Atty. Fernando F. Cot, Provincial Election Supervisor, highlighted the official Voter Registration Information Campaign “VOTE SAFE PILIPINAS” during his welcome remarks.

Further, updates on COMELEC Resolutions are presented by Atty. Julio Nicanor C. Guinto and Mr. Allan B. Aseron, Election Officers of Cabanatuan City and Pantabangan respectively. The AFP and PNP also discussed the Security Preparations for the 2022 Elections.

Dr. Edwin V. Santiago, Provincial DOH Officer, reminded the attendees to strictly observe and follow the health protocols during the campaign period and moreover on the day of election to avoid or minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Towards the end of the meeting, each member of the PJSCC gave their respective words of Guidance to attain the orderly, safe and peaceful election in this time of pandemic.


 

DILG Nueva Ecija held Provincial Team Conference for the First Quarter of 2022

To cope up with the latest issuances and guidelines and to ensure the accomplishment of the department’s deliverables, the Department Interior and Local Government Nueva Ecija headed by Dir. Renato G. Benardino conducted the first virtual Provincial Team Conference for CY 2022, earlier today, February 22, 2022 via Zoom Cloud Platform.

LGOO VI/Program Manager Alfa Krista C. Reyes discussed the Department’s latest issuances relative to the Capacity Building for Barangay Officials, Liga ng mga Barangay Congress, Convention, Seminar and similar Activities at All Levels and updates on various PPAs.

The conference also served as a venue to present the Regional Memorandum Circular No. 2022-002 entitled “Guidelines on the Provision of Skeleton Workforce, Observation of Health and Safety Protocols, and Reiteration of Office Policies” in realignment to the required on-site workforce as prescribed in the Alert Level System Guidelines and Operations Plans and Budget for FY 2022, presented by LGOO II Donnabel E. Estipular and LGOO III Maricar Janice C. Perez, respectively.

Afterwards, status of the reports and reminders under CDS, MES, and FAS was presented by the Section Chiefs.

Lastly, the awarding of the first Provincial Awardee on Compliance and Excellence (PACE) to LGOO VI Louie C. Manarpiis for the Outstanding Field Officer and LGOO III Donnabel E. Estipular for the Outstanding Provincial Office Personnel for the month of January. The Awards Program aims to recognize DILG Nueva Ecija employees who have displayed outstanding performance in the delivery of public service. and other upcoming activities.
