Tarlac City, Tarlac – In pursuit of the continuing commitment towards maintained peace and order and public safety in Tarlac, the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) conducted early its 3rd Quarter Joint Meeting on July 12 at the Tarlac Capitol.

Highlights of the meeting focused on the Mid-Year Monitoring and Evaluation of the formulated Provincial Peace and Order and Public Safety Plan (POPSP) of Tarlac for C.Y. 2017-2019, of which the priority POPS issues were revisited as to the physical and financial accomplishments that have done so far by all agencies concerned.

Aside from that, the quarterly accomplishment reporting was made by the peace-keeping champions in the province - PNP Tarlac, BJMP, Tarlac Provincial Jail, AFP 3rd Mechanized Infantry Batallion Tarlac, PDEA, BFP and DILG Tarlac.

Affirmatively, it was announced by PSSupt. Arthur Antonio that the Tarlac Provincial Police Office (TPPO) was overall ranked 2nd in Central Luzon with a performance rating of 51.69%, in recognition of their relentless efforts to reduce crime incidence and suppress drug proliferation in the province of Tarlac.

As to matters of good local governance, DILG-Tarlac announced that the Regional Calibration on the SGLG Assessment results will be conducted this week to finalize the Regional SGLG passers that will be endorsed to the Central Office, for further validation and confirmation. In that note, the Provincial Government of Tarlac stays firm in its resolute desire to achieve a higher SGLG passing rate for the province, as a whole.

Relative hereto, it was mentioned that the DILG Tarlac Provincial and Field Office/s will provide technical assistance on the crafting of the 3-year Barangay Peace and Order and Pubic Safety Plan (BPOPSP) for the 511 barangays in Tarlac. Slated this July and on August are the Municipalities of San Jose (24-26), Camiling and Concepcion (26-28) and Paniqui (August 2-4).

Further, the body was cordially invited to witness and take part of the ASEAN Lantern Lighting at the Municipality of Mayantoc on August 8, which likewise be held simultaneously nationwide. This significant event traces the historical value of Mayantoc, that once has been a cradle of American soldiers during their colonization era.
