One of the principal purpose of any government organization is to serve its people well. The people, therefore, deserve a government that delivers in the most efficient, fastest and orderly manner.
We at the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) intend to deliver. We are determined to reach out to the public and serve them in the best way we can. Hence, we have formulated the DILG Citizen's Charter that will serve as our bible in undertaking our tasks and responsibilities in our respective offices. A requirement mandated under the Anti-Red Tape Law or Republic Act of 2007, the Charter contains a rundown of our frontline services, the step-by-step procedures, the time allotted, requirements and responsible person for each task. This important document is testament to our strong commitment to the public that we are working for them. We are here for them.
On the other hand, this Charter is also the people's passport to quality and better services from the Department. This is their guidebook on what to expect from the DILG and how it fares in the performance of its functions. With this charter, they will feel that the Department regards them as its most important client and benefactor.
I therefore call on all Department officials and employees to 'feel and breathe' the content of this Charter so that they may be able to enhance and improve the delivery of their services to the public. We should all join hands and make this Department a working DILG that is dedicated to make a difference in the lives of the Filipinos.
