2016 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 9184 otherwise known as the Government Procurement Reform Act (GPRA) shall take effect immediately after sixty (60) calendar days from August 29, 2016, the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
In view thereof, all concerned officials and employees are directed to READ AND STUDY CAREFULLY the said RIRR in order to facilitate efficiently all the procurement activities of the Department.

The recognition and awarding of 306 local government units (LGUs) that have passed the test of good local governance will highlight the culminating activity of the 25th anniversary celebration of the Local Government Code (LGC) today (October 27, 2016) at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila.

The provincial launch of the MASA-MASID Program was conducted through the collaborative efforts of DILG Zambales headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad and the Zambales Provincial Government under the leadership of Governor Amor D. Deloso on November 4, 2016 at the Zambales Training and Conference Center, Iba, Zambales.

One of the fundamental state policies enshrined in the Constitution is the autonomy of local government units (Const., Art. II, Sec. 25). In this regard, the Constitution mandated Congress to "enact a local government code which shall provide for a more responsive and accountable local government structure instituted through a system of decentralization with effective mechanisms of recall, initiative, and referendum, allocate among the different local government units their powers, responsibilities, and resources, and provide for the qualifications, election, appointment and removal, term, salaries, powers and functions and duties of local officials, and all other matters relating to the organization and operation of the local units." (Const., Art. X, Sec. 1)
