The first Provincial Team Conference (PTC) of the year for DILG Bataan was more than just a routine meeting—it became a heartfelt send-off for LGOO VI Allan Don Malonzo, who is set to assume his new role as City Local Government Operations Officer (CLGOO) of San Fernando, Pampanga after years of dedicated service in Bataan.
Held on January 31, 2025, at the Orion MDRRMO Building, the conference proceeded with the usual updates and reports from provincial focal persons. However, the highlight of the event was the tribute to “Don,” who has been a key figure in DILG Bataan for a decade.
Malonzo’s contributions have played a major role in the office’s achievements, including his recognition as DILG Region III’s Exemplar Program Manager in 2022 for his outstanding leadership and innovations through the Local Governance Resource Center. As MLGOO of Abucay in 2023 and 2024, he guided the LGU in securing its first and second Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) awards, marking a significant milestone for the municipality.
To honor his dedication, DILG Bataan personnel prepared a tribute featuring poems, dance performances, a video presentation, and messages of gratitude. Provincial Director Belina Herman, CESO V led the team in expressing appreciation for Malonzo’s dedicated service and the lasting impact he has made.
Alongside the tribute, important discussions took place during the PTC. Cluster Team Leader Cristy Blanco provided an orientation on the procedures for filling up of vacancies in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), including succession, the conduct of a Katipunan ng Kabataan (KK) Assembly, or appointment by the mayor. She emphasized the importance of ensuring active youth representation in local governance and following proper selection processes.
