ORANI, Bataan – As the Provincial Showcase Barangay for the first semester of 2023, Barangay Mulawin conducted its local assembly on March 18, 2023 with the theme "B-BIDA KA! Barangay BIDA Ka sa Pagpapatupad ng Kapayapaan, Pangangalaga ng Kalikasan, at Pagpapaigting ng Pagkakaisa Tungo sa Isang Ligtas, Mapayapa, Maunlad at Masaganang Pamayanan" which was attended by at least 400 constituents.
Gracing the assembly were Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, Board Member Atty. Tony Roman, PNP Provincial Director PCOL Palmer Tria, Orani Chief of Police PMAJ Larry Valencia, OIC-Municipal Fire Marshal SFO4 Glenn Vitug, MLGOO Maribel Patawaran, and DILG Bataan personnel headed by Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESO V.
In his message, Punong Barangay Marvin Dela Cruz highlighted the projects implemented in the locality amid economic and social disruption caused by the COVID 19 pandemic. Together with the barangay council, accomplishments and future plans were also discussed.
Meanwhile, financial reports regarding Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and annual budget were presented by SK Chairman Khim Joseph Angeles and Barangay Treasurer Mary Rose Velasco, respectively.
PD Herman acknowledged the presence of the guests as well as the participation of the constituents in the assembly. She also emphasized the role of the residents in the conduct of the event and addressing them as the "salt" that makes public service a fulfilling job.
Moreover, Orani MLGOO Maribel Patawaran delivered the message of SILG Benjamin Abalos, Jr. to the constituents which highlighted the significant role of barangays on achieving good local governance.
The activity concluded with a question-and-answer segment wherein some of the assembly members received home appliances as prizes for their correct answers.
