The Provincial Government of Pampanga faced the Regional Assessment Team (RAT), today, July 4, 2023, for the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) assessment.

Department heads were in full attendance to present the performance documents of the LGU and answer queries from the validators headed by ARD Jay E. Timbreza, MED Chief Lerrie S. Hernandez with ADC Aldwin Reyes, SGLG Regional Focal Person Fatima Lalu, LGOO IV Isaac Dizon and CSO partner Mr. Noel Sibal of PPCRP. DILG Pampanga headed by Provincial Director Myra Moral Soriano was also present to lend support and assistance to the RAT.

In his welcome message, Provincial Administrator Atty. Charlie Chua noted that the progressive assessment tool continues to raise the bar of public service and challenges the Provincial Government to further improve its programs and compliance to various government procedures and processes without compromising delivery of basic services to Kapampangans.

Meanwhile, Regional Director Atty. Anthony C. Nuyda expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government for their efforts and hard work in preparing for the assessment and urged them to continue striving for excellence.

The assessment proper comprised of table validation, interviews, and onsite inspection on the different facilities of the LGU based on the 10 governance areas of the SGLG namely, (1) Financial Administration, (2) Disaster Preparedness, (3) Social Protection and Sensitivity, (4) Health Compliance and Responsiveness, (5) Sustainable Education, (6) Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, (7) Safety, Peace and Order, (8) Environment Management, (9) Tourism Heritage Development, Culture and Arts, and (10) Youth Development.

The SGLG is a prestigious award conferred by the DILG to local government units from the municipal and city level up to the provincial level that have demonstrated exemplary performance in the delivery of public service and compliance to national laws and issuances.
