Farmers and residents of Barangay Calancuasan, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija are now assured of a better access road following the inauguration of the newly-paved 146 meters Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) today, March 4, 2025.
The project came into fruition through the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), an incentive given by the DILG to support the priority projects of LGUs who were conferred with the Seal.
The newly-concreted FMR is envisioned to benefit not only the 3,662 residents of Barangay Calancuasan but also to provide convenience for students, workers, and other road users traversing from nearby barangays. The paved road is also expected to bring forth better opportunities to the farmers, providing them with easier access when cultivating the land and transporting their agricultural produce to the market.
The inauguration and ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Honorable Mayor Florida P. Esteban, M.D. and also participated in by DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Director Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., LGOO VI Mary Kesia C. Guiang, LGOO VI Anna Marie P. Batad, LGOO V Leovielyn H. Aduna, and DILG Provincial Locally-Funded Projects (LFP) Engineers.
