CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga - The DILG Central Luzon Regional Office recognized the local government units with exemplary contributions to the rehabilitation and preservation of the Manila Bay. The 2021 Manila Bayanihan Incentives Awards (MBAI) was conducted at the Kingsborough International Convention Center, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on March 23, 2022.

 The activity was led by Regional Director Karl Caesar R. Rimando, CESO III, and addressed the attendees regarding the importance of their contribution not only for the rehabilitation of the Manila Bay but also in pursuing the implementation of the various environmental policies for the sustainable development of their respective LGUs.

Two (2) out of six (6) Manila Bay LGUs from Tarlac were recognized as the top performer in the province. The City of Tarlac, headed by Mayor Cristy Angeles, represented by City Environment and Natural Resources Officer Engr. Albert Tañedo, for the city category; and the Municipality of Victoria, headed by Mayor Christian Yap and represented by Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer Ms. Estela Apolonio for the Municipal category.

The Manila Bay Clean-up, Rehabilitation, and Preservation Project (MBCRPP) are implemented by virtue of the Supreme Court continuing Mandamus. The Mandamus LGUs for Tarlac are Bamban, Capas, Concepcion, La Paz, Tarlac City, and Victoria. They are among the local government units included in the said project and the Manila Bay Watershed Area.
