SAN FERNANDO CITY – In preparation for the upcoming local and national elections in May, the Pampanga Joint Provincial Peace and Order Council and Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PPOC-PADAC), in coordination with the COMELEC, held an election briefing followed by a Peace Covenant and Candidates Forum, March 4, at the BrenZ. Guiao Convention Center.

 During the election briefing, members of the PPOC were apprised on the guidelines on the conduct of campaigning, meeting and rallies based on Comel ec Resolution 10732. Discussion on the crime situation and updates on the drug clearing programs in the province were also taken up by the PNP and PDEA, respectively during the quarterly meeting.

Following the adjournment of the POC meeting, Governor Dennis Pineda led the signing of Integrity Pledge as part of the Peace Covenant and Candidates' Forum. Present also to sign the said pledge were Former President and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and Congressman Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales.

The forum, which was attended by 336 candidates for the May 2022 Elections, demonstrated the united stance of the Province in maintaining peace and order. It also reinforces the concerted efforts of the local governments, various national government agencies and the community in maintaining secure, accurate, free and fair (SAFE) elections.
