The DILG-Olongapo City, in coordination with the City Agriculture Office and Olongapo City Police, spearheaded a tree-planting activity at Sitio Lapaya, Gordon Heights on October 6, 2021 to engage its personnel in healthy and environmental-friendly recreation.

During her pre-planting message, City Director Amada T. Dumagat expressed her gratitude to all the participants including the DILG-OC Contact Tracers, City Agriculture Staff, Station 5 Police, SWAT and the Purok Leader. "Nawa'y basbasan ng Diyos ang mga itatanim para makatulong sa kalikasan," she said
The tree-planters trekked the mountainous area in Lapaya for almost an hour to reach the planting area. They rooted a total of 100 Narra seedlings provided by the Agriculture Office.

The tree-planting is part of the series of health and welfare activities for the DILG-OC personnel which aims to boost health and well-being.

"Our environment needs human's tender loving care," said Contact Tracer Team Leader Joseph Carrero. "We can give it by engaging in environmental activities that also improve our quality of living such as tree planting."
"If we want to be safe, let's help and protect mother nature. The virus can be defeated by having a clean environment," said CT Karlo Denise Faraon.
