As requested by the Association of Barangays Secretaries (ABS) of Olongapo City, the DILG-OC conducted Orientation Training for Barangay Secretaries on July 14 at the Grand Hoya Hotel, Subic Bay Freeport Zone for their capacity development.

 To remind the participants of their roles and responsibilities, City Director Amada T. Dumagat discussed the administrative duties and functions of Barangay Secretaries.

LGOO V Fernando M. Erese, Jr. gave presentations on the Functionality of Barangay VAW Desk, Functionality of Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), and Barangay Full Disclosure Policy (BFDP). He also enumerated the eligibility, certification process and the checklist of requirements and means of verification to qualify for the Safety Seal certification.

LGOO V Vincent E. Catacutan presented the results and findings of the 2021 Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA), the recent functionality audits for the Barangay Anti-Drugs Abuse Councils (BADACs) and Barangay Peace and Order Committees (BPOCs), and their performance assessment based on Barangay Compliance Audit Monitoring System.

"I would like to thank CD Amada T. Dumagat and the DILG-Olongapo City for sharing with us their valuable time and expertise," said ABS Pres. Elizabeth R. Tamaño. "The whole day session was intended to orient the new Barangay Secretaries on the duties and responsibilities and refresh the not-so-new. It turned out to be a great bonding time for the secretaries as well."
