DILG Central Luzon joined in the country's celebration of the 47th Nutrition Month with the theme, "Malnutrition patuloy na labanan, First 1000 days tutukan!".

 OIC-RD Jay E. Timbreza participated in the Launching of Nutrition Month as one of the Panel Discussant during the Press Conference via Zoom Application on July 5, 2021.

Dir. Timbreza, in the press conference, mentioned that the Department is supportive in addressing the malnutrition. As one of the major partners in nutrition advocacy initiatives, he also ensured that nutrition programs are included in the programs of Local Government Units.

Dr. Corazon Flores, the Director of Department of Health Center Luzon Center for Health Development emphasized in her welcome remarks the importance of investing in the nutrition and health of the mother and baby because children are the future.

The National Nutrition Council spearheaded the activity which focuses on the first 1,000 Days of life as strategic intervention to prevent stunting and obesity. The Nutrition Month's theme reiterates the call for all the members of the society to continue the efforts in addressing malnutrition guided by the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 as the framework.
