In line with the COVID-19 response of the City Government of Angeles, Barangay Balibago, headed by PB Rodelio H. Mamac spearheaded the launching and blessing of Gueco Balibago Elementary School (GBES) Isolation Facility on May 17, 2021.

DILG Angeles City Director Martin Porres B. Moral congratulated Barangay Balibago for putting up another project that will benefit all COVID-19 affected individuals. He also ensured the Department's continuous support to all the endeavors of the local government.

The isolation facility will cater the close contact/s of the COVID 19 positive patients in the city. This will help control the home transmission of those Close Contact/s that are waiting to undergo RT-PCR Test and RT-PCR Result.

Based on the assessment of the City Health Office, ACDRRMO, BHERTs and DILG Contact Tracers majority of the COVID-19 positive patients were infected with the virus in their workplace and transmitted in their homes.

In his message, PB Mamac shared the barangay's health situation in April 2021 where an increase in positive cases was recorded. According to him, the presence of the isolation facility will eventually help decrease the COVID cases in the LGU. He added that all close contacts will be isolated while waiting for the RT-PCR test results. Two days upon receipt of the negative result and if the close contact is asymptomatic, he or she will be allowed to go home. On the other hand, those whose RT-PCR results are positive will be transferred to separate rooms while facilitating their transfer to the city's isolation facility.

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. expressed the city government's support to the barangay's initiative. He also reminded everyone to be responsible citizens and follow safety protocols all the time.

The activity was attended by Councilor JC Aguas, Parish Priest of Barangay Balibago, School Principal of Gueco Balibago Elementary School and Resident Doctor of the Isolation Facility.
