The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Zambales headed by Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad initiated the conduct of an online orientation on the Strengthening of Project Monitoring Committees (PMCs) in Local Government Units (LGUs) on November 26, 2020 via zoom meetings— with the aim to capacitate LGUs and ensure completion of quality and valuable projects for all.

 The activity was in coordination with the DILG Central Office represented by OPDS-Water Supply System Program Manager Relly Leysa, and the DILG Regional Office represented by Engineer Melvin Panlilio. Said resource persons discussed the vital role of the PMCs, while the DILG Zambales Provincial Engineers gave guidance on the various project standards.

Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad emphasized that the pandemic would not hinder the stakeholders in carrying-out and monitoring the community-responsive projects. "Despite the pandemic, we will strive with our endeavor na makapagprovide ng beneficial projects para sa ating mga kababayan. We are commited na mas gumanda ang performance ng mga LGUs ng Zambales and ensure na maging matino, mahusay, maayos at maasahan ang ating mga projects," said PD Bactad.

The activity served as the second round of orientation with the members of the project monitoring committees' from the municipalities of Candelaria, Castillejos, Iba, San Antonio, San Narciso and Subic.
