PD Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, together with representatives from the Provincial Government of Pampanga, PNP, and Philippine Army, led a simple awarding ceremony in the distribution of checks to ten (10) former rebels (FRs) under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) last Monday, August 17.

In the said ceremony, an amount of P65,000 each was given to former New People's Army (NPA) members and P15,000 for former Militia ng Bayan (MB) members. This is composed of the immediate and livelihood assistance given by the government in hope of helping the FRs to be reintegrated with the community and start anew.

Aside from the initial cash assistance, other benefits of the program include firearms remuneration and access to government services such as medical assistance, loan and market access, legal assistance, educational assistance and possible inclusion in peace and development-related projects, among others.

ECLIP is a program of the DILG and OPAPP that aims to provide a complete package of assistance to former members of the CPP-NPA, MB and National Democratic Front (NDF) who surrendered and opted to lead new lives and side with the government towards lasting peace and development.
