DILG Nueva Ecija participated in the First Quarter 2023 National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on March 09, 2023 at SM Mega Center, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija.

 DILG Nueva Ecija headed by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr. together with the Provincial Office Personnel, joined the first collaborative earthquake drill initiated by the Local Government of Cabanatuan City, in partnership with SM Mega Center Mall, after the lockdowns caused by COVID-19 Pandemic.

PD Tactac conducted a brief meeting with the SM Management, stakeholders, partner private organizations, and CDRRMO-Cabanatuan City prior the NSED. During the meeting, he articulated that DILG Nueva Ecija is planning to introduce Integration of Emergency Protocols of Private Establishments and Local Government Units (iEPPAL) to urbanized barangays of Cabanatuan City that aims to provide a safer, adaptive, and resilient Filipino communities.

He emphasized that iEPPAL will focus on the urban barangays where big establishments and high concentration of population are present.

During the simultaneous drill, PD Tactac deployed DILG NE Personnel to observe and gather data concerning to disaster management and protocols of participating barangays, CDRRMO and SM Mega Center. Collated data will be used as reference for policy formulation and emergency protocol integration for iEPPAL.

The simultaneous drill was also participated by CLGOO Louie Manarpiis, PhD., BFP, PNP, and partner barangay rescue teams who demonstrate expertise on public order and safety protocols.
