To significantly ramp-up the country's contact tracing program following the signing by the President of the "Bayanihan to Recover as One Act" or Bayanihan 2 Law, the DILG Aurora led by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., DILG Aurora Provincial Director and PHRMSPB Chairperson, kicked-off the series of assessment and interviews for the Contact Tracer applicants in the Province of Aurora.

 Stipulated under the guidelines drafted by the Department of Interior and Local Government, the soon-to-be hired contact tracers will earn a minimum of P18,784 per month in a 3-month-contract of service status. Among their responsibilities are to conduct interviews, profiling, and perform an initial public health risk assessment of COVID-19 cases and their identified close contacts; refer the close contacts to isolation facilities; conduct enhanced contact tracing in collaboration with other agencies and private sectors; conduct daily monitoring of close and general contacts for at least 14 days, and perform such other tasks in relation to the COVID response.

The Province of Aurora, given its COVID-19 free status, is one of the provinces with the least number of allocations for contact tracers but also the province with the most number of applicants in terms of target percentage.

The assessment series, commenced with the minimum health standards, was scheduled up until September 25, 2020.
