With its exemplary performance in the implementation of programs of the government, Brgy. Paralaya of Candaba was chosen as the "Showcase Barangay" in the province for the second semester of the simultaneous barangay assembly.

With the theme " Barangay Muna: Nagkakaisang Barangay, Kaagapay ng Bansang Maunlad," the barangay assembly held on October 20, 2019 was spearheaded by Punong Barangay Jaime Gumabon and attended by DILG Pampanga's Provincial Director Myrvi Apostol-Fabia, CTLs Jose Algy Canlas and Renalyn Iglesias, PM Mark Jason Veran, MLGOO Josephine Villanueva and the Provincial Staff.
PD Fabia lauded Barangay Paralaya for exemplifying "outstanding and clean governance" as well as its efficient delivery of services to the constituents of the barangay. She also enjoined the support and cooperation of local officials and the community in advocating for the anti-drug and peace and order campaigns of the government, and underscored the drug-cleared status of the village.
In his State of Barangay Address (SOBA), PB Gumabon reported on the accomplishments of his barangay in the last six months which included construction of alleyways and drainage systems, installation of solar lamps to improve security, cash for work project, purchase of a garbage truck and construction of a senior citizen multi-purpose hall, among others.
He also bared the plans and programs for the barangay in the next six months. The financial statement of the barangay was also included in the report.
Also present to lend their support were Candaba Mayor Rene Maglanque, Municipal Councilors Nelson Alonzo, Thelma Macapagal, Maine Santiago, Fire Marshall Mario Velasco and Chief of Police Aljon Luig.
