The Department of Finance has issued Department Order No. 07, Series of 2024, signed by Secretary Ralph G. Recto on November 5, 2024, which redefines the income classifications of Local Government Units (LGUs) based on updated income ranges under Republic Act No. 11964.
Section 5 of the Department Order states that Provinces, Cities, and Municipalities shall be classified into five (5) classes according to their income ranges and based on the average annual regular income for the three (3) fiscal years preceding a general income reclassification.
Progress for Bataan:
The Province of Bataan proudly retains its status as a 1st Income Class Province. Meanwhile, the City of Balanga and the Municipalities of Abucay, Bagac, Morong, Orion, Pilar, and Samal have advanced to higher income classifications, showcasing their consistent revenue growth and economic resilience.
Effectivity:
This Department Order shall take effect on January 1, 2025, in accordance with Section 9 of RA No. 11964 and Rule III, Section 10 of its IRR.
