ABUCAY, BATAAN—Barangay Calaylayan hosted the 2nd semester 2024 Provincial Showcase re Barangay Assembly on October 20, with the theme, “Talakayan sa Barangay: Aktibong Diskusyon ng Pamayanan Tungo sa Masigla at Maunlad na Bagong Pilipinas.” The event, held at the Calaylayan Senior Citizen Hall, highlighted the barangay’s commitment to progress and good governance.
Punong Barangay Priscilla D. Cordova opened the event by thanking attendees and stressing the importance of unity in achieving the barangay’s goals.
DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESO V, delivered the keynote speech, underscoring the role of barangay assemblies in promoting transparency and community involvement. Other local officials addressed public safety and civil registration concerns.
A lively performance from the Bonifacio Camacho Senior High School Performing Arts Club entertained the audience before Punong Barangay Cordova gave her State of the Barangay Address (SOBA), where she shared accomplishments and plans for improving services and infrastructure.
Barangay Council members also presented project updates, while SK Chairperson Art Lowie R. Abejar reported on youth initiatives. Barangay Treasurer Jana Lingad gave a financial update, showing a commitment to transparency.
The event celebrated Calaylayan’s dedication to progress and set an example for other barangays in Bataan.
