The recently inaugurated Php 2.3M project entitled "Construction of Road at Barangay Tenejero, City of Balanga, Bataan" funded under the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance – Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), has the potential to bring about improvement in the area, particularly those residing and passing by in the busy road.
During the inauguration held on October 14, 2024, City Mayor Francis Anthony Garcia expressed his gratitude for the Department's support in helping the LGU secure the prestigious SGLG award. He also expressed optimism about earning the award for the eighth time.
Meanwhile, DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina T. Herman, CESO V, commended the LGU for its collaborative efforts in successfully implementing the project, emphasizing the particular challenge of earning the SGLG grant and giving an excellent good governance.
In his message during the turnover, DILG Region III Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza commended the city's achievements, stating, "Ang karangalan na nakukuha ng Balanga City ay karangalan rin ng DILG. We take pride in your accomplishments."
The event was graced by esteemed individuals, namely the Sangguniang Panglungsod members, department heads, staff from the City Engineering Office, CLGOO Mildred Sazon, Cluster Team Leader Cristy Blanco and the DILG Provincial Locally-Funded Projects Team.
This road is a vital part of a busy route used daily by students going to school and businesses transporting goods. Improving access, not only makes travel smoother and safer but also supports local businesses and helps boost economic activity in Brgy. Tenejero.
