The Provincial Government of Bataan, in partnership with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Bataan, successfully held the Inauguration and Turnover Ceremony of four brand-new multicabs to the barangays of Lalawigan, Gugo, Sta. Lucia, and Tabing Ilog of the Municipality of Samal on October 10, 2024.
The multicabs, funded through a P4 million allocation under the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), are set to enhance local services and support community initiatives.
The ceremony, held as the final part of the Husay Barangay Awarding Program, was a highlight of the 33rd celebration of Local Government Month in the Province of Bataan. The awarding program, spearheaded by DILG Bataan, recognized exemplary barangays that have consistently upheld good governance practices.
In his message during the turnover, DILG Region III Assistant Regional Director, Dir. Jay E. Timbreza, CESO V, commended the Provincial Government of Bataan for its relentless efforts in achieving the highest percentage of SGLG passers in the 2023 assessment.
“Isa po sa mga hangarin namin ni Gob. Joet ay magkaroon ng isang probinsya na may 100% LGU awardees, at sana muling manguna ang Bataan sa larangan ng SGLG. Sa lahat po ng beneficiaries ng multicab na ito, ipinapangako namin sa bawat barangay ang isang pamahalaang may malasakit at may serbisyong puso para sa bawat isa,” Dir. Timbreza stated.
Governor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, representing the Provincial Government of Bataan, gratefully accepted the project and emphasized the importance of continuous improvement in local governance. He also expressed his gratitude to the DILG for their unwavering support for the province of Bataan.
The program concluded with the signing of the Certificate of Turnover and Acceptance, followed by the ceremonial handover of the multicab keys to the four beneficiary barangays.
