The DILG Bataan team joined local officials in Barangay Wawa, Orion, Bataan today for the inauguration of a new storm drainage system. The project, funded by the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF) with a budget of PHP 1.8 million, aims to manage stormwater runoff and reduce the risk of flooding during heavy rains.
The event included a ribbon-cutting, unveiling of a marker, and speeches from key figures. Mayor Antonio Raymundo Jr. expressed his thanks to the national government and the Department for their support. DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman, CESO V, acknowledged the efforts of all those involved in completing the project on time.
Local officials believe that the launch of this storm drainage system is a key step in Orion’s efforts to improve flood control and protect the community from the impacts of severe weather.
