Led by Bataan Governor Joet Garcia, this week's convocation included the ceremonial awarding of glass markers to the 10 provincial, city, and municipal LGUs that successfully passed the FY 2022 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).
Expressing his gratitude to the local officials and functionaries for achieving the esteemed Seal, Governor Garcia commended the 10 LGU passers for FY 2022, alongside the recent 12 LGU passers for FY 2023. He then conveyed a message of challenge to the attending local chief executives and their representatives, urging them to strive for a 100% or 13 over 13 LGU passing rate across the province in the next assessment year.
Meanwhile, DILG Bataan Provincial Director Belina Herman, in her message, emphasized that these plaques should not mark the endgame for the LGUs. Rather, they should symbolize an ongoing commitment to excellence in public service, highlighting the importance of continuous improvement and innovation.
Officials from the LGU passers, including mayors, vice mayors and other staff, were present to receive the markers. The ceremony was witnessed by members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, DILG Bataan personnel, employees of the Provincial Government of Bataan, and representatives from several national government agencies.
