The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) and Provincial Task Force on Ending Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) of Bataan convened for the 2nd Quarter of 2023 on May 8, 2023 at the 4th floor Conference Room, The Bunker, to discuss and address issues related to peace and order, insurgency, public safety and drug abuse prevention and control in the province.
The councils also assessed the implementation of programs and initiatives, identified gaps and issues, and discussed solutions under the direction of Governor Joet Garcia as the chairperson of the councils.
The council welcomed the new Bataan PNP Acting Provincial Director, PCol Palmer Z Tria, and the Commanding Officer of the incoming 69th Infantry Batallion of the Philippine Army, LTC Marcelo F Valdez. Moreover, Gov. Garcia also expressed his gratitude to 1Lt Anthon Fragio, Batallion Commander of the 70IB for their troop's dedication and service to the Province of Bataan.
Regarding DILG programs, PD Belina Herman informed the PPOC of the target barangays on the 2022 and 2023 Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) and the tentative regional validation schedule of the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance.
The joint meeting was organized by the PPOC Secretariat headed by PD Herman of DILG Bataan, and was also attended by Vice Gov. Ma. Cristina Garcia, BM Popoy Del Rosario, Mariveles Mayor AJ Concepcion, Samal Vice Mayor Ronald Ortuguerra, Orani Sanggunian Bayan Member Gen Pascual, LnB Provincial Chapter President Doroteo Austria and PPOC-PADAC-PTF ELCAC members.
