In search of outstanding Lupons in the Province of Aurora, the DILG Aurora conducts the Provincial Assessment of the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) for CY 2023, on April 17, 2023.

The Lupong Tagapamayapas ensure the delivery of justice at the barangay level through amicable settlement of disputes.

The table validation aims to assess the Lupons’ performance in the effective implementation of Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) Law for the year 2022 under review. The Lupons were assessed based on the following enhanced evaluation criteria:

(1) Efficiency in operations (42 points);

(2) Effectiveness in securing the settlement of interpersonal dispute objective of the KP (20 points);

(3) Creativity and resourcefulness of LT (30 points);

(4) Area or facility for KP facilities (5 points); and

(5) Financial or non-financial support (3 points).

Before the assessment proper, LGOO V Maricar Janice C. Perez discussed the Brief History of Katarungang Pambarangay to the Provincial Assessment Team. This is to reiterate the importance of KP implementation in the observance of justice in the barangay level.

Upon tedious assessment facilitated by LGOO VI Jesus L. Vizconde, the Lupong Tagapamayapa of Brgy. Calantas of the Municipality of Casiguran clinched the highest score of 93% for the 1st to 3rd class category for municipalities and shall serve as the Provincial Lupong Tagapamayapa entry of the Province of Aurora to the Regional Assessment.

The said assessment was headed by the LTIA Provincial Awards Committee chairperson, DILG Aurora OIC Provincial Director, Ener P. Cambronero, CESE, and participated by the members namely: PLCOL Raul S. Siriban (representing Gov. Christian M. Noveras, Chairperson, PPOC); Hon.Maria Elena F. Nicer, LNB Aurora Chapter; Ms. Dia Lord L. Imperial (representative to Fiscal Jobert D. Reyes, Provincial Prosecutor, Department of Justice); Ms. Donna N. Lopez, RTC Branch 91 (representative to Judge Enrico Voltaire S. Rivera, Executive Judge RTC Branch 91); and Ptr. Crisanto V. Astrero, Jr., of the Adventist Community Services.

Said activity was facilitated by LTIA Provincial Focal Team composed of LGOO VI Jesus L. Vizconde, LGOO V Maricar Janice C. Perez and LGOO II Gerald Philip DC. Esteves.
