DILG Aurora PPMT represented by LGOO V Mary Joyce Bautista and Engr. Florenz Zaira Buenconsejo witnessed the blessing of the recently delivered brand new two (2) units Multi-Purpose Vehicles amounting to P 2,860,000.00 funded through the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF) FY 2019 and LGU counterpart of Baler.
The Municipality of Baler received a Performance Challenge Fund amounting to P 2.3 M Pesos for the fiscal year 2019. This is to support the high impact development projects identified as priority by the LGU.
PCF is a grant or cash award given to elligible LGUs upon passing the Seal of Good Local Governance.
For the Fiscal Year 2019, the SGLG, also known as "Pagkilala sa Katapatan at Kahusayan ng Pamahalaang Lokal", is awarded by the DILG each year to deserving provinces, cities and municipalities that perform well in various fields.
The DILG raised the bar in assessing LGUs that have good governance practices, by changing the conditions from "4-plus-1" to "all-in".
This means that an LGU must not only qualify for the four core components and at least one of the three essential areas, which was the requirement in the previous years, but must pass all the seven areas: financial administration; disaster preparedness; social protection; peace and order; business-friendliness and competitiveness; environmental management; and tourism, culture and the arts.
