In his opening message, PD Ener P. Cambronero emphasized the significance of the Lupong Tagapamayapa. He said, "Our barangays serve as the first line of defense in conflict resolution, ensuring that disputes are settled at the grassroots level, fostering harmony, and preventing unnecessary escalation. The Lupon Tagapamayapa plays a crucial role in this mission, embodying the principles of restorative justice, community involvement, and good governance. Today, we will dive into the criteria, mechanics, and best practices that can help our barangays achieve excellence in alternative dispute resolution. More than just an award, the LTIA is a call to action—a reminder that a peaceful community starts with proactive and committed leaders."

The LTIA is a DILG recognition program that highlights the Katarungang Pambarangay as a grassroots indigenous conflict resolution method and rewards lupons for excellent performance.
