Baler, Aurora – 8 Municipalities in the Province of Aurora attend the Orientation for the 2025 Functionality Assessments for Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPC) and Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) on February 13, 2025, at the DILG Provincial Office.

PD Ener P. Cambronero welcomed the municipal and provincial members of the council and committees for women and children’s protection. He explained the significance of the assessments and encouraged the members to learn more during the day’s session.

PM Reyner L. Buenconsejo set the tone for the day and provided a brief overview of what was to come. He advised the participants to share feedback to help improve the assessment and ask questions to clarify their concerns.

LGOO II Gerald Philip DC. Esteves discussed MC 2021-039, providing comprehensive guidelines for establishing, strengthening, and monitoring the LCPCs. He also shared the latest technical notes regarding the indicators, forms, and tools used in the assessment. The participants could share their concerns and best practices with others for improved performance.

Afterward, LGOO II Angel M. Oviatt discussed the guidelines for the operationalization of the LCAT-VAWCs. Participants learned about the details of this year’s indicators so that they are ready to be assessed on their level of functionality and gain further insights on what they can improve for the future. She demonstrated the usage of the tool for easier tracking of their accomplishments.
The orientation concluded with a final parting message from PM Reyner L. Buenconsejo who also thanked the members for their active participation throughout the day.
