PANIQUI, TARLAC - In line with the week-long celebration of the 306th Founding Anniversary of the Municipality of Paniqui, the Farmers' Day and Parade of Tractors was held and participated in by the town's 35 barangays and farmers' groups on March 12, 2018.
The parade aims to exhibit all the agricultural products of the Municipality and serves as a festive thanksgiving for the bountiful harvests and doubles as the conduct of inventory and assessment of the 52 units of tractors granted to the barangays and farmers' cooperatives/organizations in Paniqui.
One of the highlights of the event is the Search for the Best Dressed/Decorated Hand Tractors (Kuliglig) which intends to motivate all participating farmers and barangays to showcase their artistry and creativity in ornamenting their hand tractors using their own farm-produced and agricultural products.
The winners winning barangays are Canan (1st), Coral (2nd), and Burgos (3rd), and were given cash prizes amounting to PhP10K, PhP7K and PhP3k, respectively with Sasso chicks. All non-winning participants/groups were also given 50 heads of Sasso chicks as their consolation prize.
