Noong ika-26 ng Hunyo, taong kasalukuyan, pinasinayaan ang bagong Earthquake Early Warning System sa Bayan ng Pura. Ang proyektong ito, na nagmula sa P1,800,000.00 na pondo na natanggap ng lokal na pamahalaan bilang kanilang FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) - Incentive Fund, ay isang malaking hakbang tungo sa mas ligtas na komunidad.

Sa pamumuno ni Mayor John Paul M. Balmores, ang proyektong ito ay naglalayong mapadali at mapalawak ang pag-alerto at pagresponde sa mga residente sakaling makaranas ng lindol o iba pang sakuna. Bukod dito, magagamit rin ang sistema upang kumalap ng mahahalagang datos para sa pag-aaral ng mga lindol, na magbibigay ng mas malalim na kaalaman at kahandaan.

Dinaluhan ang inagurasyon ng mga kinatawan mula sa DILG Region III, kasama si Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza, CESO V, at ng DILG Tarlac kasama si Cluster Leader Dennis A. Daquiz. Kasama rin sa mahalagang aktibidad na ito ang masisipag na lokal na opisyal at mga Department Heads ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Pura.

Ang bagong Earthquake Early Warning System ay simbolo ng pagkakaisa at pagsusumikap tungo sa inaasam na progreso ng Bayan ng Pura. Sa kanilang ika-anim na parangal mula sa SGLG, patunay ito na ang Pura, Tarlac ay ehemplo ng maayos at tapat na pamamahala, na may malasakit at dedikasyon sa kanilang mga nasasakupan.

In a continued effort to strengthen the Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC) in Tarlac, the Multi-stakeholder Advisory Council (MSAC) convened for its 2nd Quarter 2024 meeting on June 24, 2024, which featured the ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MSAC members.

The activity underscored the importance of collaborative efforts among various stakeholders to foster resilience and cooperation in local governance. LGOO II Dione Ganiban provided insights about the Local Governance Resource Center (LGRC) and SIKAD initiatives, while LGOO II Elridge Barbaso discussed digital innovations that can be utilized to enhance the projects, programs, and activities to other agencies involved. MSAC Provincial Focal Person, LGOO VI Maricar Janice Perez delivered a detailed exposition on the roles and functions of MSAC, as well as the contents of the MOU.

Representatives from local government units, non-government organizations, academic institutions, and the private sector gathered to reaffirm their commitment to shared goals and collective action aimed at promoting effective governance and sustainable development in the province.

The meeting was successfully concluded by the key leaders from various sectors, led by MSAC Chairperson and DILG Tarlac Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad, CESO V. Other distinguished attendees included Tarlac Provincial Police Office Provincial Director PCOL. Miguel M. Guzman, Commanding Officer of the 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion LTC. Ryan V. Villar, BIGKIS Task Force, Inc. Founder Felix Cabugnason, Provincial Fire Marshal SSUPT. Roberto Miranda, Tarlac Provincial Jail Warden JSUPT. Emily E. Buena, PDEA Tarlac Provincial Officer IA III William M. Dulay, PENRO Officer Forester Celia D. Esteban, the president of TENROA-Tarlac Chapter Ms. Wilma D. Balgos, and other MSAC members with their respective representatives from different agencies namely: Mr. Lawrence M. Santiago from Department of Education Tarlac Province, Mr. Jumel A. Vitao from Department of Labor and Employment Tarlac, Engr. Kings Lee M. Magday from Department of Public Works and Highways Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office, Ar. Maynard Kenneth E. Valentino as representative of Engr. Vladimir L. Santillan, En.P from the LLPDCPI-Tarlac Chapter, Ms. Gabriela Liana S. Barela from Philippine Information Agency - Tarlac, Mr. Macquel M. Serrano from the Provincial Health Office, and Mr. John H. Lanuzo from Tarlac State University.

Isinagawa ngayong araw, ika-22 ng Mayo, 2024 ang Table Validation ng Local Council on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children Functionality Assessment sa panlalawigang tanggapan ng Kagawaran ng Interyor at Pamahalaang Lokal sa Lungsod ng Tarlac. Layunin ng aktibidad na ito na tiyaking patuloy na nagagampanan ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa buong lalawigan ang kanilang tungkulin na protektahan ang mga komunidad laban sa pagsasamantala sa mga pinaka-bulnerableng sektor ng lipunan.

Pinangunahan ng Provincial Inter-agency Monitoring Team (PIMT) ang pagsusuri. Kabilang sa mga lumahok ay sina Armi V. Bactad, CESO V na kinakatawan ni LGOO VI Henrielle Justeene A. Tuliao, Ma. Elena L. Jalos ng Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Atty. Cristina S. Lenon ng Department of Justice na kinakatawan Ms. Mary Jane O. Manaloto, Dr. Jeanette A. Lazatin mula sa Provincial Health Office, PCol. Miguel M. Guzman ng Tarlac Police Provincial Office na kinakatawan ni PLT. Edelaida C. Capili, Gng. Amelia Tuquero ng Rehoboth Children's Home, Inc, LGOO VI Maricar Janice C. Perez, LGOO II Jake Elridge D. Barbaso, at PEO I John Harold David.

Sa kabuuan, ang aktibidad na ito ay bahagi ng patuloy na pagsusumikap ng Lalawigan ng Tarlac upang mapanatili ang kaligtasan at kapakanan ng bawat mamamayan, lalo na ang mga kababaihan at kabataan na madalas nagiging biktima ng pang-aabuso at human trafficking. Patuloy ang pagsusumikap ng PIMT sa pakikipagtulungan sa iba’t ibang ahensya upang magtagumpay sa adhikaing ito.
