During the kick-off ceremony of the Provincial Children’s Month 2024, all LGUs in the Province of Pampanga were awarded with Php 100,000.00 cash incentives for achieving the IDEAL level of functionality in their Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPCs).
In her address, Director Myra B. Moral-Soriano, CESO V explained the criteria and indicators used in assessing the functionality of these councils. Subsequently, Vice Governor Lilia "Nanay" Pineda emphasized the critical role of local governments in safeguarding children’s rights, highlighting the importance of promoting health, ensuring access to quality education, and protecting children from all forms of abuse.
The LCPCs play a vital role in integrating children’s rights and welfare into local development plans across all levels of government. They also assist in the effective implementation and monitoring of national laws and policies aimed at protecting children at the grassroots level.
This recognition underscores Pampanga’s continued commitment to upholding and advancing the welfare of its youngest constituents.
