In view of the 18-day campaign to end Violence against Women and their Children (VAWC), the DILG Pampanga spearheaded the activity titled “Shielding the Vulnerable: Providing Safe Spaces for All through Well-Equipped Officers” on November 28, 2023 via Zoom Application. The activity served as a venue to inform and equip the DILG Field Officers, members of the GFPS, LCPC, LCAT-VAWC, and Barangay VAW Desk Officers on the Expanded VAWC Bill and Safe Spaces Act.
An open forum was conducted for the participants to clarify issues and concerns regarding the implementation of VAWC in their LGUs. Various cases were raised by the participants and answered by Atty. Hannah Jezel Rosario, resource speaker from the Commission on Human Rights Region III.
The discussions during the activity aim to aid the participants in the implementation of Expanded VAWC Bill and Safe Spaces Act in the LGU and provide service to end any violence and the threats of violence that can be experienced by every woman and their children.
Ms. Lucia Vinuya, VAW Desk Officer of Brgy. Arenas, Arayat, Pampanga, expressed her gratitude for the knowledge gained through the activity, stating, “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa program na ‘to.
