Arayat, Pampanga – On September 21, 2023, a new Waterways (Drainage Canal) project has been inaugurated in Barangay San Jose Mesulo, Arayat, Pampanga.
Funded under the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), the Municipality of Arayat aims to address the longstanding flooding concerns in their area as this canal will serve as the waterway during flooding caused by heavy rains.
"Itong canal na ito bukod ito ay daluyan ng tubig kapag my flooding. Bukod sa physical na purpose nito, gusto po natin na maging simbolo ito ng patuloy [na pagdaloy] ng pagkakaisa ng Munisipyo at Barangay at mga Municipal Functionaries", said PD Myra B. Moral-Soriano during the inauguration ceremony.
With this project, the Municipality hopes to bring an end to their flood-related concerns and safeguard their livelihoods.
