In the effort of Angeles City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) to further promote peace and order and ensure public safety in the City, Honorable Mayor Ed Pamintuan, Chairman of the CPOC and Honorable Vice Mayor Maria Vicenta-Vega Cabigting, Vice Chairman of the CPOC organized a two-day Orientation-Workshop on Crisis Management and Integrated Community Public Safety Plan for the members of the council on March 29-31, 2012 at the Lohas Hotel, Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. The City Peace and Order Council is composed of representatives from partner NGAs, NGOs and stakeholders.
Mayor Pamintuan, in his inspirational message said that peace and order in the city will continue to be one of his priorities in his administration. He congratulated Dir. Myrvi A. Fabia of DILG-Angeles City for her big role in organizing the orientation-workshop. He was also very happy with the reports from PNP that the crime rate of the city decreased and the crime solution increased.
Criminality, Terrorism/Insurgency and Illegal Drugs situation of the city were presented by Capt. Josef Leo Angeles of PNP, Col. Gregorio Pio Catapang Jr. of AFP and Agent Blesi Talavera of PDEA respectively. This will guide them to strategize in their formulation of Integrated Community Public Safety Plan (IACPSP). Ms. Lerrie S. Hernandez, DILG R-3 Monitoring and Evaluation Division Chief, served as resource speaker for the topic. Col. Orlando Yebra on the other hand will discuss crisis management.
The orientation-workshop was conducted with an end-view of a more peaceful and orderly Angeles City.

March 2012 marks a significant breakthrough for the Angeleños. Aside from the different activities being undertaken for the Women’s Month Celebration, the city also launches the Gender and Development (GAD) Code. Likewise, City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, a well known advocate of women’s rights spearheads the Parangal Para Sa Lider Kababaihan. She gave recognition to female barangay officials of Angeles City for their unselfish dedication to their respective tasks. The Vice Mayor stated in her message that these women leaders are the first to respond to the needs of women in the grassroots. The said events were held at Hotel Stotsenberg, Clark Freeport Zone on March 24, 2012.
DILG Regional Director Florida M. Dijan assisted in the awarding of plaques of recognition to four lady Punong Barangays and 30 Barangay Kagawads. In her message, RD Dijan congratulated the barangay leaders and the city government for initiating an activity which recognizes the participation and empowerment of women in governance.
City Councilor Edu Pamintuan representing Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan and Liga ng mga Barangay President Joseph Dimapilis also graced the activity.
Right after the recognition, Vice Mayor Vega-Cabigting presented to RD Dijan the Angeles City’s GAD Code. The GAD Code is a tangible proof that the city really means business as far as women empowerment is concerned. She also shared Sonny Carroll’s poem “The Empowered Women”. The activity ended with the closing message of City GAD Focal Person Purita David.
