Boosting Economic Growth through Calabasa's Newly-Constructed Access Road
Gabaldon, an agro-industrial municipality at the foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains, proudly inaugurates the newly-concreted access road at Barangay Calabasa. The project came into fruition through the FY 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), an incentive given by the DILG to support the priority projects of LGUs who were conferred with the Seal. The project has a total allocation of Php 1,800,000.00 and spans 180 meters.
The inauguration and ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by Honorable Mayor Atty. Jobby P. Emata and was also participated in by DILG Nueva Ecija through LGOO VI Louie C. Manarpiis, OIC-Cluster II Team Leader on behalf of Provincial Director Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr. CESO V, along with LGOO VI Gretchen A. Urgente, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer of Gabaldon, and DILG Nueva Ecija Provincial Engineers.
With the paved road, the LGU aims to develop a community that is more accessible to travelers en route to a boost in economic growth as well as local tourism. In fact, the access road opens a path towards the Gabaldon Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and Mount Marupok, providing a safer and easier access for the sightseers who want to witness the tourist destinations in Barangay Calabasa.
