The Department of the Interior and Local Government Nueva Ecija headed by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr. joined the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office III in the conduct of Social Welfare and Development Agency (SWDA) Convention with the theme of "ARAW ng PAGKILALA" at Hotel Consuelo, Sta Rosa, Nueva Ecija.

 The SWDA Convention is a pioneering effort of Region III that engages stakeholders in coming together to create a legally binding engagement among our private sector partners. It also aims to level up quality services and build more meaningful partnership with all stakeholders including the Local Government Units (LGUs) in Region III and to recognize also the contributions and accomplishments of our stakeholders and partners for this year CY 2022.

Provincial Director, Atty. Tactac shared a message recognizing the role of our Social Welfare and Development Agencies in promoting the welfare of the poor, disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals, families and communities.

Social Welfare Development Agencies (SWDA) are non-government organizations that provide social welfare services to the community. These NGOs are being recognized by the Department in view of R.A. 10847 of 2016 and MC 04 of 2018 which contains guiding principle in the implementation on delivery of quality services and programs to the disadvantaged sector.

SWDAs act as partners of the Department in delivering quality services to the poor, vulnerable, and the disadvantaged. Their partnership with the Department and Local Government Unit plays a vital role in ensuring proper and equal conveyance of goods to the community.
