Being the Chairperson of the Provincial Inter-Agency Monitoring Task Force (PIMTF), the DILG Nueva Ecija, headed by Atty. Ofelio A. Tactac, Jr., Provincial Director, spearheaded the conduct of the Provincial Validation on the Functionality of the Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) on September 12, 2022 via Zoom Meeting platform.
LGOO II Millicent Kaye I. Velasquez briefly discussed DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2020-006 entitled "Guidelines in Monitoring the Functionality of LCAT-VAWC" including its technical notes. LGOO II Velasquez focused her discussion on the four areas of assessment namely: Organization which comprises 10% of the total ratings, Meetings (10%), Policies, Plans and Budget (30%) and Accomplishment (50%).
The assessment aimed to measure the level of functionality of the LGUs and to strengthen the local committees addressing the problems of trafficking and VAWC and ensuring the rights and protection of children are being prioritized by the LGUs.
During the assessment proper, the PIMT thoroughly validated the uploaded documents of each C/MCAT-VAWC using LCAT-VAWC Form No. 1. Clarifications raised were duly addressed by the team members.
The activity was attended by the PIMTF representatives: Ms. Emma Tungpalan and Ms. Mildred Dela Cruz of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PWSDO), Deputy Provincial Prosecutor Atty. Eddie C. Gutierrez of the Provincial Prosecutor's Office, Police Master Sergeant Julie Magsilang of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), with the DILG Provincial Office Personnel: LGOO VII Dennis A. Daquiz, LGOO V Rossella P. Edillor, LGOO II Ma. Christina P. Casares, LGOO II Bon Paby P. Mingua, and LGOO II Millicent Kaye I. Velasquez.
