Zambales Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC), Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PDAC) and Provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) chaired by Governor Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. convened on June 08, 2022 at Balin Sambali, Iba, Zambales and via Zoom platform, to discuss peace and order, drug situation, and insurgency issues in the province.
In his message, Governor Ebdane highlighted the important role of every agency and stakeholders to harmonize peace and order efforts to make Zambales a safe province. He also expressed his warmest congratulations to the newly-elected officials and urged them to strive for better governance in the next three years.
Meanwhile, CPT Norman Oliver H Adlaon, Company Commander of the 33rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion and PCOL Fitz A Macariola, Provincial Director of the Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) presented the updates on threats of terrorism, insurgency, ending local communist armed conflict and criminality and the status of peace and order in Zambales, respectively.
Moreover, IA V Jigger B. Juniller, Provincial Officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) provided an update on the status of anti-illegal drug programs and activities highlighting the Barangay Drug Clearing program, of which, 191 out of 230 barangays in the province were declared drug-cleared.
Further, Governor Ebdane commended the dedication, commitment and unwavering efforts of the outgoing Provincial Director of DILG Zambales, Dir. Armi V. Bactad for her invaluable contribution as the PPOC-PADAC Head Secretariat for the province for more than ten years. PD Bactad will be reassigned to DILG Tarlac effective June 15, 2022.
In closing, Governor Ebdane encouraged everyone to continuously support the provincial government in upholding peace and security initiatives— "We do it together, we join together, and we go through the hardships together" he said.
