DILG-Angeles City encouraged barangays to raise the bar of local governance during the National and Local Program Implementation and the Impact of Mandanas-Garcia Ruling at the Barangay Level Forum on April 6-8 at the 456 Hotel, Baguio City.
Regional Director Karl Cesar R. Rimando reminded the barangay officials that public office is a public trust, thus they need to provide the services which the citizens expect from them.
DILG-AC introduced the Angeles City Reports Monitoring System (AC-RMS) being used by the office's to monitor and evaluate the performance of the barangays in the timely submission of quality reports.
Afterward, DILG-AC awarded the barangays with complete submission of regular reports and the highest compliance rating as of the first quarter of 2022 as reflected in the AC-RMS.
"Itong ginagawa po natin na ito (application of AC-RMS), hindi lang natin itinataas ang antas ng paglilingkod ng barangay, kundi inaangat din natin ang public service dito sa Angeles City," said City Director Martin Porres B. Moral. "Our aim is to produce national awardee barangays."
CD Moral also urged the Punong Barangays to provide their respective secretaries with the appropriate equipment such as laptops and printers with scanners and their own office due to the number of reports and documents required by the national government.
LnB President Jeremias M. Alejandrino expressed his gratitude to DILG-AC for providing innovations to facilitate the monitoring and submission of reports required from the barangays, and ensuring high compliance rate.
"The Barangays become more competitive at mas napapadali pa naming nalalaman ang aming kakulangan at ang mga maaari naming i-improve dahil sa initiative (AC-RMS) ng DILG-Angeles City," said LnB Pres. Alejandrino.
To further capacitate the barangay officials, the DILG-AC also reoriented the barangay officials on the impact of Mandanas-Garcia Ruling, monitoring and evaluation of barangay plans, assessment of barangay-based institutions and other national programs.
