DILG R3, thru its Regional Information and Communication Technology Unit (RICTU), capacitated the ICT skills of its regional and field offices personnel through the conduct of the Training on Online Platforms Basic Operations and Database Management under the Central Luzon ICT Competence and Knowledge Enhancement towards Digitalization (CLICKED) training program on March 31-April 1, 2022 at the DILG Regional Office Conference Room, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
A total number of forty four (44) participants from the regional and field offices attended the activity via face to face and Zoom online platform. It was aimed to enhance the technical knowledge and competence of regional and field office personnel on the use of online systems/platforms/tools and other strategies to cope up with the day-to-day operations in the new normal setup.
Assistant Regional Director Jay E. Timbreza highlighted in his opening remarks the inevitable fact that we have to embrace the adoption of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from rigorous thing of doing manual system to the adoption of online systems and platforms. He added that the use of ICT had redefined and reset the direction we have to do in the government service.
During the first day of the training, Regional Information and Communication Technology (RICTU) staff led the discussion and demonstration on the topics on the uses of Google Form and Google Drive; Google Form Creation and Management; Google Drive Features and Operations; Zoom Virtual Platform Features and Operations; Basic ICT Hardware Equipment Operations and Troubleshooting; and Social Media Application and Official FB Page Posting.
Meanwhile, the Personnel Section and RICTU jointly handled the second day of the activity which dealt on the discussion on the issues, concerns and System Updates on Performance Online Monitoring System (POMS).
The afternoon session was devoted on the topic, Database Management, led by Mr. Paul B. David where he shared strategies and various application platforms on how to further enhance the datasets/database being developed by RICTU specifically on the Central Luzon Expenditure and Allocation Reporting System (CLEARS), Quality Management System (QMS) dashboard, regional website and LGRRC Online Resource portal.
